Brunch food choices are good. Service is great and ambience is just right with low key background music. Prices are reasonable but payment is via Cash only
Started off with one of the shareables called the breakfast egg rolls. Came out really fast, and got eaten just as fast. Each roll was this deep fried roll contains a bit of egg, cheese, and the Ketchup was a great addition to the roll and it was really good. Also ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was kind of dry, tbh. Didn't have much taste either but the sauce, eggs, and the waffle were a good touch that gave it a little more flavor. Probably wouldn't order this again tho
The food was very delicious! I got the savory board and personally that's the way to go. You get to try a little bit of everything. The food came out fast and was hot. The espresso martini was delicious and not too overpowered with vodka. There was a short line outside when I arrived, but since I was solo I got to skip and sit at the bar. They don't have WiFi. The only reason I took a star off is because I had to wait a while to place my order because the waitresses were arguing about whose section I sat in. But overall this is a cute place with a lot of space and nice decor.
I had this place on my Philadelphia bucket list for their French toast selection! I decided to order the Banana Salted Caramel French Toast. It comes with 3 thick fluffy brioche slices, each layered with salted caramel cream and fresh banana. The top has a caramel glaze, cream and banana chips which I didn't prefer so I scooped them to the side. It definitely is a heavy and sweet breakfast so I couldn't finish it all but it was quite delicious and all the components complimented each other so well. I always get a side of scrambled eggs to eat first when having a sweet breakfast. It's just a super classic diner style scrambled eggs and delicious. The interior was interesting! The outside is beautiful and warm, the front area is super aesthetic + trendy but the back area (where we got seated) gives off university cafeteria vibes so if you're looking for a good vibe, ask to sit in front. Also they are CASH ONLY!!!
I have been wanting to try this place. It did not disappoint. The buffalo Mac and cheese was enough for 2 people, 3 if you are sharing something sweet. The cookie dough French toast was rich and filling - it is dense which I enjoy in comparison to some French toast where it is one bite and gone.
The food here is really good, but it could be better. I love a sweet french toast so me and my friends ordered a peach cobbler french toast to split. Warning: It was REALLY sweet which was expected but it was creamy and delicious at the same time. The peaches tasted like canned peaches which brought the dish down a level in my opinion considering they advertise most of their ingredients and produce as fresh. The lox and bagel was just "eh". The bagel tasted like a bagel served at Starbucks but that's to be expected in philadelphia. The chicken and waffles tasted great and the chicken was juicy and tender but i didn't think the hot honey accompanied it well. I sat by the bar due to the wait for a table but watching the drinks being made was enjoyable. Overall I think I would come back and try different dishes (and only if there is a line that isn't an hour long)!
Came on a Monday for brunch to celebrate graduation and Green Eggs did not disappoint. Because it was Monday, it wasn't super busy and the service was quick. The staff were extremely kind and accommodating as well. We started with the legendary snack board and it lived up to its reputation. The egg rolls were perfectly crispy and the crepe was well stuffed with Nutella and fruit. For my entree, I got a three egg omelette which was deciduous and came with a variety of options for my side. The fruit was ripe and not mushy as well. I also got the Ricky Smoothie which tasted like fruit and not ice too! I enjoyed all my food thoroughly and will be back.
This was my first time eating outside of the flagship location. They were very busy but we were seated within 5 minutes on a Sunday around 2 pm. My son and I both ordered sweet and savory boards. We both asked for thin cut bacon but for some reason both got thin and no explanation was given. Not sure if it was a mistake or it was out but we were hungry so we ate. Everything I ordered (crème brûlée French toast, short rib egg rolls, bacon, and a side of grits) was delicious. There is no brûlée to be found on this French toast entree, just crème but it's still good. For me it was the perfect amount of food. I left with bacon and a whole egg roll. Super easy for me to cook some eggs and have a second meal. We'll definitely return to this location.
If you're looking for both Sweet and Savory Brunch, look no further because Green Eggs Cafe have the best of both worlds! Their french toasts are made of thick cut challah bread dipped in creme brulle batter, with flavors like salted caramel banana, peach cobbler and cinnamon bun to name a few. It was more towards lunch for us so we decided to try the skillets and oh my the serving is ginormous! A skillet can easily be shared by 3 people. If I knew how massive their servings are I would've opted for a french toast instead and my boyfriend and I can share the skillet. I had the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese with Blue cheese skillet. I love blue cheese but it was a little too overpowering on this dish, in my opinion. The other skillet we got is the Cure which has mac and cheese, french fries, topped with braised beef short ribs. This was carb overload but the beef short ribs was fire! This restaurant is CASH only but there's an ATM accessible as well. Overall, enjoyed our brunch here!
On our annual Philly party trip, we lucked up and found Green Eggs Cafe just steps away from our hotel (Royal Sonesta). If I lived in Philly, this would be one of my favorite breakfast spots for sure. We didn't have reservations but we were able to snag a couple seats at the very large bar. Green Eggs is deceptively large, with a whole separate section to the rear. As far as brunch food goes, Green Eggs can't be beat. My friend ordered the French toast sampler and I went for the Chicken eggs Benedict. I've never had that iteration of the Benny, man was that thang GOOOOOOD!!! My friend said the French toast sampler was better than any dessert he's ever had! The reason Green Eggs didn't squeeze a 5 out of me, for one, it's a cash only establishment. Who carries cash these days but they do have an ATM on site. Second, for some mind baffling reason, they have a manned hostess booth OUTSIDE in the freezing cold. Why in the world would they do that? It literally was 35 degrees the day we visited. Other than those two hiccups, we enjoyed Green Eggs Cafe thoroughly and we'll definitely be back next year!!
